Joel Brenneman moved to San Francisco with a bag and a guitar in 2014, wrote and performed music under the name Joel Taylor (Taylor and the Pretty Noises), and was a self-employed carpenter for 6 months before joining the crew at S.R. Freeman, Inc.
S.R. Freeman is based in San Jose, and frames custom homes in the San Jose area, San Francisco, San Rafael, and Tahoe. Joel joined as an apprentice in 2015 with the San Francisco division, having plenty of experience but no tools or vehicle. By 2018, Joel had become a Foreman, and by 2021 an assistant Project Manager and Foreman. A resume and a description of responsibilities follows below:
